Over 2 billion logged-in users access YouTube each month, watching billions of hours of videos. As an affiliate marketer, you can take advantage of this free traffic! Once you have succeeded in creating the perfect affiliate marketing video, you know that people are going to love and it and may watch it over and over again. Now, how do you direct people to your video? This post will provide you with six useful tips for promoting your YouTube videos.
6 Tips for Promoting Your Videos
The following six tips will help you gain traction and exposure to your YouTube videos.
Tip #1: Make sure that people understand what it is that you are trying to promote with your video
Although some very popular videos seemingly have nothing to do with the products that they advertise, they do eventually try to make a point out of their video. You should do the same. At the very least, you need to include your URL within your video description or else people won’t know how to get to your website afterward.
Tip #2: Try to make your video highly informative
Providing the most value possible to each video will cause you to build your subscriber list faster. People will greatly appreciate your authentic insights and information, subscribe to your channel, and maybe even share it with others. This is great free promotion for you and your website. Word of mouth is one of the great marketing tools out there-and it’s free!
Tip #3: Make sure that you use tags and categories in the right way
Tags are what search engines will use to find your video. Don’t just use random tags, either. Make sure that they actually have something to do with the video that people are watching. With that being said, make sure that your tags cover all aspects of the video, too. For example; if you’re reviewing a specific internet marketing course, you can use tags specifically stating the course name, best internet marketing course, course topics, course creator’s name, etc. It helps to see other popular YouTubers’ videos in your niche and look at their video tags.
Tip #4: Embed your video in your blog
I’ve had great success with embedding my YouTube videos in my blog posts. I usually write a blog posts first on the topic, then I create my corresponding video and then embed it within the post. Then I add “if you’d like to see more of my videos, please subscribe to my channel” or something similar. That way I am directing my blog traffic to my YouTube channel, as well. Tip #5: Share your video to your email list
Sharing your newly created video with your email list is a highly effective marketing technique because many of your email subscribers will go ahead and subscribe to your YouTube channel if they haven’t already. After all, they already have subscribed to your email list, so at least they initially expressed interest in your offers or are highly engaged. If you don’t already have an email list, I personally use and recommend SendSteed.
Tip #6: Share across social media
Once you publish your video on YouTube, you’re given the option to share it on social media. Provided that you already have your social media channels set up, go ahead and share your video link on each social channel you’re active in. Your followers will appreciate it!
